Also known as towing and labor coverage, roadside assistance is there to help when you’re stranded, providing immediate service to get you back out on the road as soon as possible.
Roadside assistance can include things like being broken down and needing a tow, a blown tire that needs changing, getting into a locked car, bringing gas to a car that has run out of it, jumpstarting a dead battery, or other minor repairs.
When choosing car insurance, you might wonder whether or not roadside assistance will be provided and whether it is worth whatever the extra cost might be. Typically, most roadside assistance programs are cheaper than dealing directly with most towing companies.
So, is Esurance one of the companies that provide roadside assistance? And if it does, what kind of services do they provide and what do you need to be eligible for it?
Does esurance provide roadside insurance?
Your auto insurance protects you from many things, but it may not provide you with essential basic roadside assistance. It all depends on what type of car insurance you have and which company your policy is with.
While many insurance companies require you to have both collision and comprehensive coverage first, Esurance is one of a few companies that bundle roadside assistance into all of its policies.
For those with full collision and comprehensive coverage, roadside assistance is free and for those with just liability coverage, the service is provided with a fee of $25 a year. There is also a pay-as-you-go option which is still cheaper than calling a tow company.
You can extend your roadside assistance coverage with certain membership plans. A membership plan covers additional breakdowns and costs that are not covered by a basic roadside assistance policy.
There are also additional coverage options available. If you pay for additional roadside assistance coverage, you could qualify for things like road hazard benefits, trip-interruption services (reimbursement for meal or hotel services,) or higher towing reimbursement limits.
Esurance is wholly owned by Allstate and their roadside assistance is provided through Allstate Motor Club, which offers 24/7 roadside assistance throughout the United States.

What does esurance roadside assistance cover?
Esurance roadside assistance covers all basic services up to $75 per incident. You can use three to six service calls per year depending on the state. That includes emergency towing, locksmith services, fuel deliveries, and minor repairs.
It does not cover on-scene labor, winching, or extrication and no trip interruption service, which is reimbursement for meal or hotel services.
Is esurance roadside assistance worth the cost and how does it compare to other insurance companies?
Esurance roadside assistance provides a critical lifeline to drivers who are in immediate need of emergency services. Without the service, drivers may find themselves using costly time and paying a lot of money out of pocket.
The Esurance service is cheaper than most towing services, which can cost anywhere from $50 to $125 for a five or 10-mile local tow. It is also less expensive than most other car insurance companies. State Farm charges $48 per year for their roadside assistance plan, Nationwide charges $22 per year and Farmers charges $22 per year.
Esurance roadside service covers three to six roadside incidents a year, which is equal to most other car insurance programs.
The Esurance roadside assistance plan is not only surprisingly affordable, but it is also super convenient as it is available 24/7 and can be accessed by phone, online, or through their quick mobile app. There is also no need to pay your tow truck driver and then be reimbursed by your insurance later because Esurance pays the provider directly up to $75 per incident allowing for quicker service and no extra paperwork.
Is esurance roadside assistance right for you?
Finding the best deal on car insurance can be frustrating and time-consuming, but at the end of the day, you want to find something that provides the best options and services for you.
One of the many perks of purchasing certain car insurance plans may be the option of roadside assistance. No one wants to find themselves stranded and in need of emergency services and realize that they have nowhere to turn to for help.
Esurance is one of America’s biggest car insurance companies and their roadside assistance plan is well-rated and effective while providing 24/7 coverage throughout the United States. Contact your Esurance agent or customize your policy online to add roadside assistance.
